About the sections
There are three sections to the marching part of our drumline, and there is also a front ensemble (commonly known as the pit). The marching sections are the snares, the tenors, and the bass drums. The front ensemble consits of all the other instruments in the percussion family, usually concert bass drums, marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, timpani, and all the instruments considered as "toys" by most percussionists (tambourine, triangle, etc.)
